DWI is a charge that is often incurred by “non criminals,” who have quite possibly never been arrested before, and have little or no experience with law enforcement or the criminal justice system. DWI is a crime, but in addition to the criminal issues, other implications are far reaching. DWI arrest and conviction can result in criminal penalties, driver’s license suspension, increased insurance premiums, inability to get insurance, fees, community service, loss of employment, and much more. No one in such a situation should face their charges alone. DWI is one of the most complex areas of criminal law and requires an attorney who understands the charges, the driver’s license suspension process, field sobriety testing, and chemical testing. Robert has extensive knowledge of DWI law in Louisiana and is a member of the National College for DUI Defense. In addition, Robert is coauthor of a book on Louisiana DWI law.
